Horseback riding a sport?

I don't believe horseback riding is a sport, not saying it isn't difficult but in my opinion i believe its more of a hobby. I understand its in the olympics and all that but so is ping pong lol. The thing is i know it takes talent to jump and win ribbons but the person who is deffending it and saying it is a sport because it takes strength is close to week and is very scrawny (not to be rude just giving a better idea). Please give me your opinion, and if you do please list a level wear horseback riding becomes like a serious challenge(i know its always hard) but like the level where it really starts to be tough. Im talking about jumping for show. Thanks
