Why does my cat go hyper everymorning?

She starts running around and away from people who go near her. She plays with the stairs a lot, goes mad with her ping pong balls and attacks her cat pole. I'm not trying to get her to stop because its funny. I'm just wondering why she does it. My mum said its because she knows she's getting fed soon. Or is it just because she wants to burn off some energy? I don't no where she gets her energy from though because she doesn't eat during the night when everyone's in bed.
